The International Centre of Excellence for Local eDemocracy launches its new
website
The International Centre of Excellence for Local
eDemocracy (ICELE) has launched its new website www.icele.org. The website attempts to
establish ICELE as the first port of call for local
authorities on everything to do with local e-democracy. ICELE’s
mission is to help local authorities improve two-way engagement with
communities by providing best practice advice, support and practical solutions,
focusing on the use of technology. The aim of the centre is to capture,
contribute and disseminate best practice advice on local e-democracy
internationally, nationally and locally.
The vision behind the website is to create a central trusted showcase for
innovations in technology and the uses of technology that facilitate
e-participation, e-democracy and e-inclusion.

Manual on how to become and empowered citizen published
Take
Part have published a manual for learning providers that enables them to
develop programmes of citizenship learning to help adults gain the knowledge,
skills and confidence they need to become empowered as members of their
communities. Take Part is part of the British government’s “Together We
Can” campaign (http://www.togetherwecan.info)
to enable more people to work with public bodies and the decisions about local
services.

Municipality has announced the successful attainment of a key milestone in
online service delivery with 90 percent of all services now available online, a
full year in advance of the schedule laid out by H.H.
